Lactation Innovation is located in Naperville, Illinois. Janet Talmadge started her business of renting breast pumps and helping mothers breastfeed in 1991. In 1996, she expanded the sale of breastfeeding assistance products to thousands of new mothers via the Internet.

Janet has been a board certified lactation consultant since 1994. Janet and her husband, Dick were married in 1975 and are the parents of 4 grown children (all of whom were breastfed). Janet and Dick enjoy working on many projects together, including this website. In their free time, you will most likely find them engaged in a family or church activity or outside in the garden.
